As lawyers, there are always a lot of books to be read and memorising to be done. So we have complied the 6 best aps that will hopefully make your life easier.

1. AustLII (free)

This ap is compatible with both iOS and Android phones. AustLII combines all of Australia’s online free-access resources into the one ap, allowing for access to Commonwealth Law from every state/ territory and cases from 140 courts, tribunals and boards.

2. Consumer Law Converter (free)

This ap helps you to navigate consumer law changes which replace the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth) with the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). It helps to assist in finding relationships between these two acts.

3. Free Law Dictionary (iOS) or Black Law Dictionary (Android) (free)

This ap is an easy to use legal dictionary with a database of more than 1,200 terms. You don’t even need the internet to connect!

LexisNexis Butterworths Concise Australian Legal Dictionary ($17.99)

This ap provides instant access to over 7,600 legal terms. This includes citations for current Australian judicial and legislative authorities, cross-referencing and a search history tab.

4. CamScanner (free)

This ap turns your phone into a photocopier. Simply take a picture and the ap will crop, enhance and create a PDF file. Allowing you to upload them to any file or cloud.

5. Bump (free)

Bump replaces the need for business cards. Just touch phones and your contact details are exchanged.
